Welcome,

Starting counseling can take a lot of courage, and it’s completely normal to feel a mix of emotions — hope, uncertainty, relief, or even nervousness in beginning this process.  There are valid reasons to be nervous to start therapy and even more important reasons for doing it.

We are all unique, and at the same time, we may share common challenges: wanting to better understand moods and emotions; hoping to feel less anxious or depressed; trying to manage complicated family dynamics or relationships; dealing with grief or trauma experiences (for some, the aftermath of COVID); hoping to figure out who we are and our purpose; navigating daily responsibilities and adjusting to life changes; and most importantly, finding a safe space where we feel accepted, don’t have to be perfect and can connect with our wisdom.

Healing and growing happens in spaces where we feel comfortable enough to be fully ourselves— where our thoughts, emotions, and questions are welcomed with care rather than judgment… leading to the unfolding of our wisdom and a more satisfying life. I have experienced this and I want the same for you.  I strive to create a safe, respectful and confidential therapy experience that feels warm, grounded, and collaborative.

Please feel free to take a look at my site. I have included information about my training, my approaches to therapy, and which symptoms I primarily focus on. Please reach out to me and we can schedule a brief call to determine if we are a good therapeutic fit, one of the  most important components of effective therapy.

Best, Joanna

we must
accept ourselves
exactly as we are while simultaneously acknowledging
the need to change
to meet our goals

I’m so glad I met Joanna–she’s an excellent therapist, and is someone who makes me feel instantly comfortable in her presence. She has great listening skills, as well as an ability to intuitively understand my way of thinking. Someone who is authentic is important to me, and Joanna is very approachable and authentic. I would recommend her to anyone–
